Six steps to make and verify the code
Do the steps in order. Most failed WiFi QR codes are caused by a small mismatch between the information typed into the generator and the settings actually used by the router.

Find the exact network name
Open the WiFi settings on a device that is already connected and copy the displayed network name exactly. Spaces, punctuation and capital letters matter. Do not enter the router model, internet provider or nickname unless that is the SSID shown to devices.

Choose the matching security type
Use WPA for normal WPA, WPA2 or WPA3 personal networks. Choose WEP only for an old network that really uses WEP, and choose open only when the network has no password. Business or school networks that require a username, certificate or EAP configuration are outside this simple tool.

Enter the current password
WiFi passwords are case-sensitive. Copy the password rather than retyping it when possible, and include every symbol. The generator escapes reserved characters such as semicolons, colons, commas, quotation marks and backslashes before creating the QR payload.

Set the hidden-network option correctly
Turn on Hidden network only when the router does not broadcast its name. A private-looking network name is not necessarily hidden. Marking a normal network as hidden, or forgetting the flag for a truly hidden one, can prevent some phones from joining as expected.

Generate and check the QR data
After you enter valid details, the tool creates the code locally. It then reads the generated image back in the browser and compares the decoded text with the expected WIFI payload. This catches generation errors before the download buttons become available.

Test with a second device
Display the code on one screen and scan it with another phone. Confirm the prompt names the correct network and complete the connection. If possible, test with both an iPhone and Android device before printing or sending the image to several people.
